22 of 26 RF8889A ds111017 7628 thorndike road, greensboro, nc 27409-9421 for sales or technical support, contact rfmd at (+1) 336-678-5570 or sales-support@rfmd.com . theory of operation product description the RF8889A is a sp10t antenna switch module (asm) with inte grated dual low pass filters on gsm transmit paths optimized for best in class out of band attenuation and insertion loss. th is simplifies the phone design by eliminating the need for dis- crete harmonic filters, and possible matchi ng components. integrated filtering provides etsi compliant harmonic suppression at the antenna port even under mismatch conditions, which is important as modern antennas today often present a load that significantly deviates from nominal impedance. the gsm rx ports of this module have symmetrical performanc e, and hence the rx branches can be used interchangeably from 869mhz to 1990mhz which allows for ultimate user flex ibility. this module also features an integrated charge- pump/decoder which allows for excellent linearity performance ev en at 1.3v gpio. the decoder allows the switch to be con- trolled in any of the specified ten states as defined by the control logic using 4 general-purpose i/o control lines.
